Use of twitter for health communication

Introduction: Social media have become one of the leading health communication channels among exponents Health 2.0. Twitter has particularly noteworthy features for providing information quickly and easily. However, there is still controversy about convenience its use. Objectives: This paper aims to identify main topics covered, uses in characterize valences (positive negative) associated with each Methodology: To do that, we conducted a systematic review following PRISMA guidelines. Two databases (Web Science Pubmed) were searched, 610 articles retrieved. After removing duplicates, screening titles abstracts assessing full texts, 83 papers met inclusion criteria. Results: The identified five Twitter: Conversation, Engagement, Information, Prevention, Awareness, it established definitions positive negative most common found Conversation Engagement. Likewise, two areas studied Public Infectious Diseases. Conclusion: There no consensus on usefulness as tool or generating debate, although platform’s effectiveness measuring impact campaigns was highlighted.
